they can update the console to keep it from synchronizing with a peripheral. The ToU as currently written differentiates between console hardware and peripheral hardware while stating that unauthorized console hardware modifications will result in a ban while unauthorized peripherals are only subject to monitoring and blocking, i.e. No chance for a ban until they list unauthorized peripherals as ban-worthy. I hope it's worth it to get a few more kills instead of playing by the rules and earning them.
